How the vacation destination picker works
Comparing trips on paper turns into a spreadsheet of flight times and hotel prices, and somehow the answer never appears. Asking yourself "this one or that one?" skips all of that and gets at the thing that actually matters: where you want to wake up.
The example destinations below are here to show how it works. Replace them with the places on your own list, then press Go. Do the research once you know where you are going.
- Add your options. Type them one at a time, or paste a whole list in at once.
- Press Go. You will see two options side by side.
- Choose the one you prefer. The other one drops out of the running.
- Keep going until only your winner is left.
Tips for better results
- Run it once before you look at any prices, so budget does not quietly make the decision for you.
- Travelling as a couple or a group? Everyone runs the same list, then you compare winners.
- Add specific trips rather than countries, for example "a week in Kyoto" instead of "Japan".
Common questions
Should I compare destinations or specific trips?
Specific trips give better answers. "Five days in Lisbon" is something you can picture and react to, while "Portugal" is a category you end up thinking your way through.
What if I keep changing my mind mid-way?
That is useful information. Use Undo to step back a round, or Reset to start the same list over. If two destinations keep swapping places, set Final Choices to 2 and take both to the group.
Can I share the result with the people I am travelling with?
Yes. Press Go, then send them the link to the page and they will see exactly the same list of destinations you did.
